Craftzing People: Business Partner Financial Services Hilde Van den Dungen

The financial services sector is evolving quickly, with new challenges and opportunities arising. How can companies stay ahead and deliver tech-driven, personalized solutions? Meet Hilde, Business Partner for Financial Services at Craftzing, and discover how she’s helping clients navigate this change.

You work at Craftzing as a Business Partner for Financial Services. What does your role entail?

Like many other industries, the financial sector is facing major challenges: rising customer expectations, increasingly complex regulations, and rapid technological advancements. But these challenges also bring opportunities.

My role is to help our clients navigate these changes and ensure they remain relevant today while preparing for the future. This means we don’t just advise on strategy—we translate it into concrete solutions.

I strengthen relationships with existing clients in financial services and actively seek out companies where Craftzing can add value. The potential for digital transformation in this sector is enormous. With partnerships including BNP, Keytrade Bank, Belfius, Pia Group, itsme, aiGust, and Portima, we’ve already built extensive expertise in the industry. I’m excited to expand this even further.

What do you see as the biggest challenges in the financial sector?

Customer expectations are higher than ever—they want instant access to their information anytime, anywhere, combined with fast yet personalized services and tailored solutions.

At the same time, financial institutions are struggling with growing technological complexity. Many banks still rely on outdated systems that are difficult to maintain and hinder innovation.

On top of that, regulations are becoming increasingly strict, with initiatives like the European Accessibility Act and a growing focus on sustainability. This combination makes it challenging for businesses to stay relevant and keep pace with technological acceleration.

We help clients think ahead, use technology wisely and responsibly, and turn strategies into practical solutions that deliver tangible impact—preparing them for a flexible and future-proof business.

How do you help clients tackle these challenges?

We support clients in several ways. We help them navigate technological shifts—whether in mobile, cloud, AI, or web—and guide them in building sustainable, flexible platforms that replace outdated legacy systems.

But technology alone isn’t enough. We also help businesses define their strategic positioning to stay ahead of the competition and better meet customer needs. Our approach is always holistic: How do new features or products fit into the client’s existing ecosystem? And how can we ensure innovations truly add value?

How do you want to make an impact for your clients?

My goal is to inspire and challenge clients—to look beyond their immediate challenges, help them think ahead, and prepare for what’s next. That means actively listening, asking the right questions, and acting as a strategic partner.

To do this effectively, it’s essential to dive deep into the subject matter and understand the bigger picture, which often extends far beyond the financial sector itself.

How do you stay up to date in such a fast-evolving industry?

By staying in constant dialogue with colleagues and clients and actively tracking industry trends. I listen to podcasts and radio, attend events, and keep up with the latest developments on platforms like LinkedIn.

At Craftzing, knowledge-sharing is also a key focus, with internal sessions to keep each other sharp.

What gives you energy outside of work?

Great food, drinks, and good conversations with friends and family, long hikes in the Ardennes, and simply enjoying the peace and quiet of nature. That balance helps me stay fresh and inspired.
