Crafting the digital evolution of healthcare and welfare
The government of Flanders’ Departement Zorg is driven by a clear ambition: ensuring everyone can thrive in a healthy and caring society. To achieve this, the organization continuously works on its welfare and healthcare policies. Since 2023, Craftzing has partnered with Departement Zorg to transform these policies into actionable digital strategies and impactful solutions.
A unified digital experience for Departement Zorg
In June 2023, the merger of Agentschap Zorg and Departement Welzijn, Volksgezondheid en Gezin created the new Departement Zorg. This merger presented both a significant opportunity and a complex challenge: uniting fragmented digital ecosystems that serve diverse stakeholders and target audiences. The goal? To create a seamless, unified digital experience that strengthens the synergy between healthcare and welfare.
Driving innovation: Alivia
Departement Zorg is developing new methodologies to bring its welfare and healthcare policies to life, many of which are not yet widely implemented. Alivia is a leading example. With an integrated, goal-oriented care and support plan, Alivia aims to deliver high-quality care to individuals with specific needs.
How we work together
Our collaboration goes beyond strategy—we act as a full-service partner. Together with Departement Zorg, we’ve assembled two blended product teams that work seamlessly with internal staff and external partners like KPMG and DXC Cegeka.
Here’s how we’re making a difference:
Digital strategy: Translating policy into actionable, human-centric digital initiatives.
User research and concept development: Understanding the diverse needs of stakeholders and users and translating them into thoughtful solutions.
Design and development: Delivering intuitive UX/UI designs and scalable platforms.
Accessibility consulting: Ensuring inclusivity and ease of use for all audiences.
By focusing on both the big picture and the smallest details, we support Departement Zorg to make an impact on the future of welfare and healthcare in Flanders.
